BDA Equipment Types

Radio Amplification Systems
Class B “Broadband” – Amplifies the entire spectrum within its passband
Pros – Inexpensive, can be used to bring all frequencies in a band into a building
Cons – Cannot be legally used to transmit back to donor site

Class-A “Channelized” – Amplifies only desired frequencies
Pros – Currently only option that complies with FCC regulations for transmission outside building
Cons – More expensive than Class-B, always transmits a small amount of noise back to donor site

Class-A “Channelized & Muted” – Class-A with squelch circuit
Pros – Only transmits when traffic is present (virtually removes reduction in coverage)
Cons – More expensive than standard Class-A

Cellular boosters can be deployed for buildings of any size; however, it is important you choose carrier approved hardware. You are required approval by the license holder to amplify any signal.
