Day Wireless News
We Are Service Certified
| |
| |
Day Wireless is pleased to announce our new service certification program. Working with the rigorous standards of the Electronics Technician Association (ETA), we are achieving difficult service certifications for our
RF technicians,
Service managers, and
Regional service centers. |
 |
- With certified standards, you can rely on work that is based on
In-depth Technical Knowledge.
- Continuous Training.
- Formal Customer Service Procedures.
- Clean, Organized Facilities and Vehicles.
- Current, Calibrated Test Equipment.
While Day Wireless people hold many technical degrees, FCC licenses, electrical licenses, assorted training accomplishments and factory certifications, our adoption of the ETA certification gives us a common set of standards. And you can rely on those standards as well. |
Certified Technicians
| |
To achieve this status, a wireless technician must have established work experience and demonstrate technical knowledge by passing a lengthy examination by third-party proctors. Test topics include:
- RF and Telephone Principles.
- Electronics Math.
- DC and AC Electronics.
- Generators, Motors and Power Supplies.
- Components and Semiconductors.
- Analog and Digital Circuits.
- Antenna Systems and Cabling.
- Troubleshooting and Diagnostics.
To date more than 80% of Day Wireless technicians are certified with all expected to complete by year-end.

Certified Service Managers
|
Operating a service business in today’s fast changing wireless world is a tough job. Achieving ETA Service Manager Certification requires solid customer relations skills, good business judgment and technical understanding.
They must pass a test composed of 27 competencies including:
- Customer Relations.
- Technical Problem Solving.
- Parts Management.
- Safety.
- Test Equipment.
- Project Management.
- Quality Operations.
- Vehicle Maintenance.
- Contracts and Legal Responsibilities.
To date we have two managers who have completed this difficult certification and expect all managers to complete this program by year’s end.

Certified Service Center
Achieving status as a Certified Service Center (CSC) is the high mark of a professional service business. This requires submitting a detailed application to the ETA that demonstrates:
- Established customer relations program.
- Clean, organized and maintained facilities and equipment.
- Ethical operating practices.
- Certified technicians.
- Certified service managers.
- Licenses, bonding and insurance.
|
 |
Our goal is to have our 6 regional centers achieve CSC status this year and to date we have two with this important certification:
Spokane — which supports our Eastern Washington offices.
Portland — which supports our Oregon offices.
You can depend on quality work for your wireless communication needs when you have the certified teams of Day Wireless on your team.
What is ETA?
Since 1978 the Electronics Technicians Association, International (ETA®) has certified tens of thousands of electronics technicians worldwide. ETA certified technicians excel in their specific areas of expertise, such as Residential Electronics Systems Installer(RESI), Fiber Optics, Voice over IP, Radar, Telecommunications, Avionics, Computers, Biomedical Imaging, Satellite, Associate Electronics and others. An electronics technician who successfully passes an ETA certification exam is recognized as having the necessary knowledge and technical skills to meet de facto international standards.
ETA works closely with, and supports the efforts of SkillsUSA, Certified Service Centers (CSC), National Coalition for Electronics Education (NCEE), Satellite Dealers Association (SDA), International Certification Accreditation Council (ICAC), National Certification Commission (NCC), and Association for Skilled and Technical Sciences (ASTS).

Learn Three Steps to Make Your Emergency Communications Mission Critical
|
Colleges, cities and municipalities, airports, and all other agencies that would like to learn how Motorola is making technology that is “second nature” are invited to attend. By focusing on the mission and not the technology, your people can make mission-critical decisions faster, smarter, and safer.
On March 18, 19, & 20 schedule the 20 min. presentation with your Day Wireless representative. Motorola engineers, strategists, and technical staff will be on-call for any questions that may arise. If you cannot schedule time during this window, we can still set up the presentation but it will be without the Motorola staff on call.
